Built for Essex weather
Printed Concrete Essex
Printed concrete Essex — engineered specifically for the weather we get on this side of the country. Heavy autumn rain, hard January frosts, hot UV summers. Our driveways are built on a reinforced C35 air-entrained slab, sealed twice against frost and UV and backed by a 10-year structural guarantee — so they look as crisp in year ten as they do on hand-over day.
Printed Concrete — frequently asked questions
- Is 'printed concrete' the same as 'pattern imprinted concrete'?
- They describe the same end product — a stamped, coloured and sealed concrete driveway. 'Printed concrete' is the more common term in Essex and the South East; 'pattern imprinted' is the trade name. We use both interchangeably.
- How does printed concrete handle Essex weather?
- Essex sees heavy rain, hard winter frosts and hot, UV-bright summers. We pour C35 air-entrained concrete (designed to resist freeze-thaw), seal twice with UV-stable acrylic and re-seal every 3–5 years. Properly maintained, the colour stays bright and the surface stays sound for decades.
- How thick is a printed concrete driveway?
- Our standard driveway specification is a 200mm dig-out, 100–150mm of compacted MOT type-1 sub-base, A142 steel mesh and a 100mm slab of C35 air-entrained concrete. That's well above the BS 7533 minimum for domestic driveways.
- How often does it need re-sealing?
- Re-seal every 3–5 years in Essex to keep colour depth and surface protection. A re-seal on an average driveway takes half a day; we offer it as a fixed-price maintenance package for previous customers.
- Can I drive on it straight away?
- Foot traffic after 24 hours, vehicles after 5–7 days from the final sealer coat. We programme jobs around your access — no driveway is ever left blocked overnight without warning.
